A little white gunk in the mouth never hurt nobody 🥧

You’ll need
DOUGH
300g flour
2 tsp baking powder
150g butter, softened
80g cane sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 egg
a pinch of salt
APPLE FILLING
50g raisins
1kg apples
1 tsp cinnamon
40g cane sugar
2 tsp cornstarch
ICING
150g icing sugar
2 tbsp lemon juice
Directions
Start by making the dough. Combine flour, salt, sugar & baking powder in a large bowl. Add butter and egg and knead until you have a smooth dough (but don’t over-knead). Cover with plastic foil and store in the fridge.
Peel apples, remove the core and cut into small chunks. Add with cinnamon, cane sugar, cornstarch and 2 tbsp water to a large cooking pot. Turn on the heat to high and let it simmer for 10 minutes until softened (but not cooked).
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius and grease a round baking pan. Dust your working surface with flour. Roll out half of the dough into a large circle, then transfer to the baking pan, carefully making sure the dough sticks to the sides of the pan.
Transfer apple mixture to the pie dish and distribute evenly. Roll out the other half of the dough and cover the apples with it. Make a small hole in the middle, so the air can escape. Bake for 30 minutes, or until golden brown. Allow to cool down to room temperature before spreading the icing on top.
Make the icing by combining the sugar & lemon juice. Spread smoothly on top of the pie.
