Donut cake

“I think we all deserve to give in more into hedonistic tendencies. For me, that means fully letting go and just trying to give into the pleasure of movement. Dancing without thinking, just letting the body do its thing, feeling all the emotions, seeing where it takes you and just enjoying being in a state of flow. You’ll need

FOR THE CAKE
120g butter, room temperature
270g caster sugar
3 eggs
1 tbsp vanilla extract
300g flour
15g cornstarch
a pinch of salt
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp nutmeg
120g buttermilk

FOR THE ICING
250g icing sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
45g milk
sprinkles for decoration

Directions

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees and line a round or rectangular baking pan with parchment paper.

Beat butter & sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, then add vanilla extract and buttermilk.

Add dry ingredients and stir until you have a smooth batter. Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.

Next, make the icing. Stir together icing sugar, milk & vanilla until smooth. Spread over the cake, then decorate with sprinkles.
